The Skin

The skin is classed as the largest of all human organs and is made up of many layers. It carries out many crutial functions, such as acting as a protective barrier for the body. Structures relating to the skin are termed cutaneous, meaning "of the skin". 

 

The aim of this section is to give an overview of the structure and function of the skin, as well as cutaneous receptors.
